
I tend to procrastinate on this page… Let me tell you a little about me. I am a lover and practitioner of the arts: singing, painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, silk painting, basket weaving, writing articles, essays, opinion pieces, and poetry. I have a masters degree in Holistic Health (now known as Lifestyle Medicine) because I wanted to learn how to operate in this world in a better way than I was raised. Mind you, my parents did well and did the very best they could, as we all do. I love and respect my parents and am honored to be one of their kids.
I tell you I’m a recovering idealist. I had one of those very idealist, self-created jobs. I had a business for ~15 years that endeavored to bring people and communities together in good health and harmony. I was a raw vegan. I had the first raw vegan cafe in Vermont. I sold food in stores, I also manufactured kitchen filtration bags in nylon and then in organic hemp and sold those nut milk bags all around the world. My cafe had a mural painted by an aspiring local artist and a permaculture garden created by a young permaculturist wanting to expand his portfolio a bit. Our packaging was biodegradable for both the food and the packaging and we boasted in reusing packing materials. We had the BEST customers in the world. I showcased local photographers art and cards for sale at my colorful cafe, I painted calligraphy all over the walls and stairs of my creative cafe, and I taught classes to those who wanted to learn more about incorporating more raw vegan foods in their diet. I provided a “no excuses” place, meaning that I would make you the food AND create the meal plan and coached clients towards their own unique health goals, I also sold the products and (continued on blog)
